Last week my guy sent me a mid-afternoon text and said he'd had a great time hitting golf balls that morning.
It took me a few minutes to realize that this meant he'd been hitting golf balls on a work day - not normal behavior. It turns out that his boss had taken him to TopGolf for lunch and some fun.
What was funny (to me) about all of this was Kelly's reaction - he told me that we had to go, that we'd have a great time.
You see, I've been trying to convince him to go to TopGolf for over a year and he always had one excuse or another about why we shouldn't.
So off we headed to TopGolf for a morning of fun (little did he know that I'd had a date at TopGolf on my 101 list since last year).
The concept is simple: Driving range meets arcade.
Each ball has an RFID chip embedded inside, allowing it to be tracked. You score points based on which target you hit, and where you hit within each target.
The set up makes it very easy for anyone, even non-golfers, to enjoy themselves. You don't have to be good or consistent - you just have to be willing to keep swinging.
It's a lot of fun and our two hours there went by very quickly. The food is also really good - or at least much better than what you'd expect for that sort of place.
Now that my guy thinks it's a good time, I'm sure we'll be back.
