The following layout is from a trip we took in 2004 to southeast Kansas. It's actually the first of a several page layout. I built my pages by pulling color out of the photos - grays, greens and a rusty red. The photos are of an abandoned rock garden, full of interesting shapes built out of red-gray rock and concrete, in places completely overgrown with ivy.
For the focal photo mat, I selected a green mulberry paper, to reinforce the feeling of growth and disorder.
Scrapbooking our trip to New York City was very challenging because I had a hard time narrowing down the photos I wanted to include. My solution was to do several multi-photo pages, with a consistent yellow block for journaling.
