File This Under It Always Happens This Way

Today is THE day - closing! So, as you might expect, anything and everything that could be an uncertainty...or an added expense...right now is.

Are the sellers moving out immediately or leasing back? Yesterday they said they had moved out, but when we showed up for final inspection they were still very much lived in. I suppose we'll find out at closing whether we're leasing back per our contract terms or taking possession.

Is the closing still on for 10:30 this morning? Ah, no. It will be "sometime" this afternoon.

Did the sellers leave their refrigerator or do we have to buy new? Definitely have to buy new.

How quickly can we get a handyman out to work on all of the house's to-do items? Still to be determined.

How quickly can we get our interior design consultant out to walk through and help us make some decisions? Gosh, must remember to make that call.

Add to all of these:

Hey! Shannah's camera can be repaired. A $92 repair bill is better than a $400 new camera. But it's still another expense to plan for.

Does the car smell like something is burning to you? Wonder what that can be...dreading taking it to the shop this morning.

SIGH

Have you ever noticed that it seems everything happens at the same time?

  1. You just wrote the story of our lives since we started on our journey to become debt free. Despite the bumps along the way, we are undeterred. Good friends encouraging us along the way helps too! You'll make it. One thing at a time.

  3. I'm happy that your camera can be repaired. Ask them if they can add a wrist strap.

  4. I TOTALLY should have sent you the past 3 days of Baby Blues. See if you can look them up online and you will see why I laugh!

  5. Sad bit is that the camera HAS a wrist strap already. Can they install something that makes me use it?
