Friday wasn't my Breakfast Club day - remarkable, really. It seems I'm destined to have my assigned day fall smack dab on the worst of deadlines. Or overlap a major interview. It just seems to work that way.
But not this past Friday! It wasn't my Breakfast Club day...but it was my friend, S's. I was grateful, since I did, in fact, have a deadline that saw me scrambling to get things done.
Apparently, the same thing happened to my friend. I was driving to pick up binders to finish a presentation when my phone rang.

S: Today's Friday.
Me: Yes.
S: Do you know who has Breakfast Club today?
Me: You do.
S: I was afraid of that. Having company really messes things up!
Me: I know what you mean.
S: Right. Off to La Madeleine and I'll see you in a bit.

Since Breakfast Club was rapidly turning into Middle of the Morning Snack Club, S didn't pick up breakfast pastries. Instead, we had a wonderful selection of tarts and parfaits.
My favorite? The Sacher Torte Parfait she picked up for me:
Isn't that the cutest packaging you've ever seen?
