Can I just say what's on my mind? It's Not Even Halloween Yet!!
I voiced this complaint to The Boy, who replied:
I agree. I don't want to be tired of Christmas decorations before December 1st rolls around. And anyway, I feel robbed. I want October to simply be October. I want to enjoy it for what it is.
I also want to enjoy November for what it is - fall and Thanksgiving.
So...The Boy and I wonder, is it too much to ask to wait to celebrate Christmas, in all of its tinsel and white-light wonder, until after Thanksgiving?
Some of the pumpkins in that middle photo look like they were used for target practice.
ReplyDeleteSadly, they holiday creep is only going to get worse. Retailers are trying to milk more and more profit out of them, and I don't see them changing tactics any time soon.
Maybe we should organize some sort of protest or boycott.
Amen!
ReplyDeletePerhaps we could sneak around the stores, putting corn brooms in Santa's hand.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't going to post this, but you made me do it.

One of our radio stations began all-Christmas music LAST THURSDAY! Yes, October 29. And, rumor has it two more start Monday. UGH!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you, friend. One holiday at a time. Let's enjoy the festivities and decorations to the fullest extent. What's the rush!?
What's the rush?
ReplyDeleteMoney, money, money, money...MONEY!
