Learning What You Don't Know

If you're thinking you're on top of everything in life, I suggest you change jobs.

Then you'll learn that you're on top of very little in life. Over the course of my first two weeks at work, I've learned that I don't know how to:
  • Print
  • Do an expense report
  • Navigate the Dallas public transportation system
  • Scan documents
  • Put a letter on letterhead
It's humbling.

  1. Reminds me of a suggestion from my supervising teacher when I was a Teaching Assistent in German at UW-Madison. He said it is a good idea for a language teacher to try learning another language every few years in order to keep in the forefront of your mind what your students are going through. It humbles you.
