I'm determined to change that.
You should feel sorry for him.
Every morning, I greet him with a huge smile and a chipper Good morning! only to have my efforts returned with a monotone Morning and a near-scowl.
Every afternoon, I give him another huge smile and a chipper Have a great evening! to which he replies with a monotone Bye and yet another near-scowl.
This only makes me more determined. I will win him over.
I was sharing this tidbit of my daily routine with The Boy and some friends at dinner earlier this week. When I wrapped up my tale of determined cheerfulness, The Boy looked at our friends and said:
This is what you get when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object.
Smiles are eventually contagious ....
