Earlier this week, I had a very untidy mind.
Note - I did not say that I had a filthy mind.
I've been go-go-go-do-do-do ever since changing jobs at the beginning of June. A crash was inevitable. The classic warning sign of impending doom was my untidy desk at work.
Files strewn everywhere on my desktop - there was even a box of files I'd carted from old job to new job shoved behind my chair.
It should come as no surprise to anyone who knows me that having things tidy (not necessarily clean or minimalist, but not war-zone like either) is part of my genetic makeup.
A chaotic desk = a chaotic schedule = a chaotic mind.
Understanding that there's never a good time to do anything that you're dreading doing, I spent three hours yesterday culling through my files and putting things away. I ended the day with a clean desk and a much lighter heart.
If only all stressful situations were so easily solved.
