Continuing to Purge

At some point while I was purging the pantry and closets and file cabinets, I realized that purging is a pretty big element of what I'm doing in life right now.

I'm taking time to look at the bits and pieces. I'm clearing out the clutter.

Overscheduled? I'm saying no.

Overcommitted? I'm delegating and transitioning roles.

Someone bumming me out? I'm moving away from that relationship.

I suppose you can say that I'm opening my internal pantry and taking a look.

What's shoved in there that I've ignored? What have I tried to forget about? What is it that I don't want to deal with because it's messy?

The Boy and I decided to spend time and money with someone to walk us through this process. Dr Jim is helping us learn how to move on from some serious stuff that we've had to deal with over the past five years.

You know, the kind of stuff that can lead to long-held resentment. Deep-seeded disappointment. Heartbreak. General life unfairness.

Honestly, I don't know what this will look like in the end, but just like the Hayley House (and its now-infamous pantry), I know it will be tidier and more manageable.

I knew 2013 would involve a lot of recovery from change. I'm thinking that it may become the year of finding ourselves again.
