Here's my piece of advice: if life is so terrible, then do something to change it. Quit being a victim. Grow the heck up. Life is hard. Nothing is free, easy or earned merely because you show up.
I don't mean to suggest that I don't have empathy and compassion for those who are dealing with hardships. I just am fed up with the continual moans and groans of those who are waiting for others to fix their problems.
In my disgust, I got to thinking that we just might need some new terminology for those living through These Difficult Times.
Here's what I've come up with:
- Generation Y: Generation “Why is this happening to me?”
- Generation X: Generation “Everyone, EXCEPT for me, had this coming to them”
- Baby Boomers: Baby, the BOOM you hear is my 401k imploding and now I can't retire to a life of travel, golf and a condo in Miami.
- The Greatest Generation: The “Great God Almighty, do we have to go through this again?” When will these kids ever learn to study history?
I dunno but I TOTALLY agree with your post. What you don't know about my work and yet how you posted words that I am feeling right now scare me!
