Growing up, my parents stressed that I could be anyone I wanted to be - do anything I wanted to do. My limitations were based on my dreams and determination.
Fantastic, eh? Definitely!
But on my career girl journey, I seem to learn more each day about how reality intersects with dreams.
As in:
- I love taking care of my home and family. However, I don't necessarily love pulling meat out of the freezer at 11 pm to thaw while I'm at work the next day. Nor am I really a big fan of the pile of laundry.
- I love running. However, I don't love the prospect of starting physical therapy this afternoon.
- I love being a Dallas Mavericks season ticket holder. Don't love getting home super late from the games, knowing that the next day is a work day.
- I love being in charge of my department. Not really in love with detailed paperwork and hours of massaging a budget that come along with it.
Please note, however, that I'm not likely going to quit working or give up my season tickets any time soon! A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do!
you could always devote a weekend to making some freezer meals. Meals that are completely done minus the baking to reheat, etc. There are webpages devoted to freezer cooking. My friend actually cooks once a month and then will plan once a week fun meals (tacos, etc). This still allows you eat out when you want.
