The only problem was that the smallest bulletin board was $79! The next size up (a standard sized bulletin board) was $119. Outrageous if you ask me.
So I did a Shannah-version of the bulletin board.
Take one cheap Ikea cork board ($4.99), some craft paint (on sale 2-for-$1 at Michaels), an inexpensive sponge brush and your favorite stencil design (I loved a $5.99 design available at Hobby Lobby).
Paint the outside frame of the cork board to a color of your choice. Adhere the stencil to the cork board, paint and let dry.
Voila! Your very own custom cork board for less than $15. Definitely a better deal price-wise and a super easy way to develop a design and color scheme of your preference!
This beauty's going in the laundry room, which is going to have a bit of a face lift in the months to come.
(Ummm...yeah. Don't hold your breath to see photos of that space anytime soon!)
You are so clever!
ReplyDeleteDitto @ nita.
ReplyDeleteThanks! The next one I do will certainly have more artistic talent to it, but at least I was able to prove that it worked.
