Calatrava's work is amazingly beautiful. He did the most recent incarnation of the Milwaukee Art Museum in Milwaukee and it is so striking. When the brise-soleil is open it looks like a large, attractive bird sitting on the lakeside. http://mam.org/info/details/quadracci.php

ReplyDeleteCalatrava is one of my favorite designers - he's actually a structural engineer. He's got the soul of an artist, for sure, and is able to design such complicated pieces that often project teams don't believe they can really be built.
