The dishwasher and dryer are running, providing a welcome house-rhythm hum. The kitties are begging me to come to bed, but somehow I'm still sitting here, basking in the glow of a lovely Saturday.
A Saturday where we had nowhere that we had to be. We certainly had things to do, but nothing that required leaving town, packing bags or feeling stressed out.
That in itself gave the day a wonderful tinge. You need relaxed-paced days every now and then.
And somehow when you have relaxed-pace days, other things seem to fall in place making for all kinds of wonderfulness.
All of this, I suppose, is why I'm sitting here on the couch well past my bedtime. I'm thinking about the wonderfulness of the day and wondering what was the best.
- Was it running my fastest 5k ever? (A full 2 minutes - and change - faster)
- Was it getting my grocery shopping done in less than 2 hours?
- Was it completing the laundry in one day?
- Was it taking a leisurely hot bath in the middle of the day?
- Was it enjoying a fantastic homecooked candlelight meal (and great conversation) with friends?
- Was it the way-cool medal that was handed out after the 5k (handmade by the Mexican villagers the 5k raised money to support)?
I wish every Saturday could be as wonderfully lovely.
