Boy, oh boy, are the ants ever biting this year! It seems we can hardly go outside without returning with a bite or two (and that's post-pest control). Please don't get me started on the bites we returned with after our time in East Texas...ack!
So here's the question for today's safety minute:
What's the best method for relieving the pain of ant bites?
Remedies on our radar include:
What's worked for you? The Hayleys are uncomfortably itchy!!
Hydrocortisone 1%, OTC, applied lightly to itchies gives temporary relief.

Gold Bond also works for us. Adella & JJ are getting eatten alive by mosquitos this year at the sitters house. They play in the sprinkler in the grass twice a week!
ReplyDeleteWe also use Benadryl quite heavily.
Your dad and his brother invariably developed impetigo from mosquito and chigger bites when they were children. Not good. Don't scratch!

ReplyDeleteI'm partial to Rhuligel (which is hard to find) or the Benedryl gel. They have anesthetics which help the itch factor. Overall, though, Aveno's anti-itch cream is FANTASTIC - calamine based. Wonderful stuff. You can also give tea tree oil a try. Trust me - I'm an expert. Mosquitos LOVE me!
