Obvious, right?
But what I mean is that an unplanned day sneaks up on you, catching you completely unawares.
That's even more true with an unplanned trip - you find yourself planning on the fly, adjusting as best you can, trying to keep a sense of humor about the situation. {Because, as we all know, an unplanned trip with your spouse can easily go terribly, horribly wrong.}
An unplanned trip snuck up on The Boy and I as we were in the midst of a planned trip. {Sneak, indeed, are these unplanned days!}
We were sitting in the airport, preparing to leave on a planned trip, when we received a call that changed our plans. Sometimes these things just happen.
So we found ourselves arriving in Atlanta and having to scramble for a car and a place to stay. {I should note we were in town for a work special event, but went in a day early to save money on flights.}
But you're wondering what the Hayleys did with an unplanned day - on unplanned trip of sorts. Nothing. And everything.
- We relaxed. Soooo important.
- We read - I finished two books and a few magazines.
- We caught up on podcasts.
- We toured the World of Coke - something I've always wanted to do but didn't want to do without The Boy.
Different place + no plans = refreshment...especially if you don't feel like you have to pack a million things into a suddenly open schedule.
I have to say, this isn't a bad way to get a 101 List item checked off.
